Bring Joy to Kids in Children’s Hospitals Nationwide
The Children’s Television Network names Joybug as its
official joy-inspiring mascot.

Fort Myers-Naples, FL – March 6, 2015 The Children’s Television Network (www.tctvn.com), a national children’s hospital television network with studios based in Southwest Florida, announces a recent partnership with Joy Kids Universe (JKU). The Children’s Television Network (TCTVN) will now be incorporating JKU’s messaging into its branding and programming, and will be featuring JKU’s signature character, the “Joybug” as the network’s official mascot, effective immediately.
TCTVN provides positive messaging and approved content chosen specifically for children’s hospitals. The goal of the programming is designed to entertain, educate, inspire and engage children, their loved ones and their caregivers during hospital stays.
“When we met with the founders of Joy Kids Universe, we discovered that our visions were extremely aligned,” said Donnie Vick, Founder and Chairman of TCTVN. “We are very excited about this partnership, and the opportunity to bring an even higher level of ‘joy’ to children across the country by incorporating this branding and messaging into our current programming.”
TCTVN Network will now be adding Joybug’s hourly 30-second “Joy Breaks” into its current programming.
“These ‘Joy Breaks’ include inspirational, positive messaging that has been created by our team, based on extensive research,” said Tim Rowe, Founder/CEO of Joy Kids Universe. “The messaging is designed to help children discover, during the early stages of life, that they are perfectly unique, courageously free, and were born to live a life full of joy. It helps show them the importance of creativity, imagination, and the power of positive thought. Even when they are in the hospital, we hope that this will be inspirational to children and caregivers, and help them live more joyfully each day.”
The goal of the Joy Breaks are to inspire patients, family, and caregivers to take a moment to breathe, smile, and relax; reducing stress where and when it’s needed most.
In addition to the “Joy Breaks” in TCTVN programming, the Joybug mascot will also make appearances at TCTVN-affiliated children’s hospitals.
